The VitrA V-Care 3 Prime is the flagship of VitrA’s V-Care 3 range: a complete wall-hung smart toilet that is as close to touch-free as a bathroom gets. The seat and lid open for you and close behind you, the bowl and nozzle are cleaned with UV-C light, and every wash, dry and lighting preference can be set once and recalled at the touch of a button.
It keeps everything that has made the Core the range’s most popular model — oscillating, pulsating and microbubble washing, a warm air dryer, a heated seat, air purification and an integrated side panel — and adds the features that remove the last points of contact: an automatic open and close seat and lid, UV-C bowl and nozzle cleaning, automatic flushing and fully customisable ambient lighting.
Like every V-Care 3, it is engineered as one unified system rather than a seat added to a standard pan. ⚠ Installer & User Guide: Smart Diagnostic LED Errors
The V-Care 3 features an onboard diagnostic system. If the toilet is not dispensing water, observe the red LED on the side button panel:
- Red LED blinks 4 times: “Inlet Water Closed” or “No Water” error. Check that the mains water supply is open and that the water inlet filter is clean and free of blockage.
- Red LED blinks 9 times + 5 long beeps: “Abnormal Water Level” in the internal tank.
Hard Reset Procedure: Press the Stop and Pre-Wash buttons on the remote simultaneously and hold for 10 seconds. After a long beep, the toilet will draw in water and exit error mode. Switch the unit off, confirm water is present at the supply, then switch it back on to restore normal operation.
The Prime has everything the Core offers — oscillating, pulsating and microbubble washing, warm air drying, a heated seat, air purification, bowl lighting and the side panel — and adds four features: an automatic open and close seat and lid, UV-C cleaning of the bowl and nozzle, automatic flushing and fully customisable ambient lighting. UV-C light is used to help eliminate bacteria inside the ceramic bowl and on the bidet nozzle, adding a further layer of protection on top of the self-cleaning nozzle and the VitrA Hygiene glaze. The Prime is the only V-Care 3 model with it. It supports, but does not replace, routine cleaning with a soft cloth and a mild neutral detergent.
Yes. VitrA specifies the Prime with an automatic seat and flush. Because a wall-hung toilet flushes from the concealed cistern behind the wall, confirm your frame and flush plate with us before first fix so that the automatic flush is set up correctly. The manual flush plate remains available at all times.
The Prime is supplied as a complete unit (ceramic bowl with integrated smart seat) and must be installed by a qualified professional. It requires a suitable concealed WC frame (3/6-litre dual flush recommended), a standard cold water supply and a 230V electrical connection within reach. These services are identical for the Base, Core and Prime, so a frame prepared for any V-Care 3 will take the Prime. The smart functions are pre-configured at the factory and ready to use once water and power are connected.
No — only a standard cold water supply is needed. The Prime heats water internally for cleansing, with no connection to a hot water cylinder or combi boiler.
No. The V-Care 3 is not a retrofit bidet seat. It is engineered as a complete, integrated system and must be installed with the matching VitrA ceramic bowl and a concealed frame. It cannot be added to an existing toilet of another brand.
Yes. The VitrA V-Care 3 range is EN 1717 compliant, meeting European standards for backflow prevention and making it safe for connection to the UK mains supply. It is compatible with standard UK water pressure and does not require a pressure regulator in most installations. If you are unsure about your water pressure, our technical team can advise.
Run the built-in descaling programme every two to three months, depending on your local water hardness — particularly important in London, the South East and East Anglia. Clean the water inlet filter periodically to prevent inlet errors. For day-to-day cleaning, use a soft damp cloth with a mild neutral detergent and avoid acidic, alkaline or abrasive cleaners on the seat and ceramic.
You can still flush the toilet manually using the flush plate. Washing, drying, seat heating and the automatic functions resume as soon as the power returns.
It is one of the strongest choices in the range. The automatic seat and lid remove the need to bend and reach, warm-water washing and air drying reduce the twisting that toilet paper demands, and the remote control and saved profiles put every setting a single press away. Grab rails and a suitable frame height can be planned alongside it. It supports everyday hygiene but is not a medical device.
