TOTO Exhibits at the Leading Edge Design Festival in London

Clerkenwell Design Week installationOur Shiro–Kuro “dialogue in design” window installation at TOTO London’s showroom

TOTO proudly took part in Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 (20–22 May), which transformed London’s EC1 district into a dynamic epicentre of creativity, innovation and architectural splendour. Clerkenwell is renowned for its vibrant community of architects and designers and its flourishing partnership with leading manufacturers—in which TOTO has played a vital role since establishing its UK base there in 2010.

The magnificent Charterhouse — a 14th‑century gem — provided the backdrop for our latest showcase. In its storied Great Chamber we presented the very latest NEOREST WX in both Matte Black and Matte White, complemented by flush plates and taps. The grandeur of Old Masters’ paintings, a grand piano and the Chamber’s monumental detailing provided a striking contrast to TOTO’s cutting‑edge bathroom technology.

Visitors were enchanted by our intimate yet elegant stand, which afforded a genuinely Japanese welcome. We repurposed our original Tea House design, ensuring that after the festival it will be reinstated at the London showroom to maximise sustainable reuse.

Outside, Alex Chinneck’s brick masterpiece A Week at the Knees wittily reimagined a Georgian townhouse façade using 7 000 salvaged bricks and 320 metres of steel. Back at our showroom, guests discovered our full WASHLET® range (in Matte Black and Matte White) alongside a new window display inspired by “Shiro–Kuro” (black and white), featuring a stylised great wave and snow‑capped mountain.

To complete the cultural exchange, we collaborated with London’s HowMatcha to craft a bespoke matcha cocktail, blending cherry cordial with rhubarb tonic water — an exquisite union of Japanese and English flavours that had guests queuing down the street.

As longstanding exhibitors at Clerkenwell Design Week, we relished this year’s expansion into new venues and the opportunity to forge fresh connections with clients and collaborators. It was truly a celebration of international design and innovation.
