TOTO, Japan’s distinguished bathroom specialist, is profoundly honoured to serve as a Bronze Sponsor and Official Partner of Expo 2025. Convening 160 nations and regions, TOTO will proudly showcase the Japanese art of refined sanitation across the exhibition grounds.
Architectural Marvels: The Grand Ring
One of the site’s most breathtaking installations is the Grand Ring—a monumental circular wooden structure, approximately two kilometres in circumference and twenty metres high, masterfully designed by architect Sou Fujimoto.
Considered the world’s largest wooden architectural structure, it encircles the national pavilions to vividly symbolise unity in diversity. Within this extraordinary setting stands the "Stone House Toilet", a public restroom fashioned from centuries‑old granite originally quarried for Osaka Castle. This remarkable facility blends heritage, nature, and contemporary design to offer a reflective space equipped with TOTO’s signature sanitary ware.

Oases of Comfort Amidst the Festivities
TOTO’s presence will be felt throughout the Expo. Visitors will encounter the company’s sleek smart toilets, WASHLETs, and washbasins in the Toyo Ito-designed EXPO Hall, the Japan Pavilion, and four dedicated relaxation zones. These thoughtfully designed spaces provide calm sanctuaries amid the bustle of the world’s fair.
Unrivalled Hygiene
TOTO’s bathroom facilities provide fully accessible entry to the highest possible standards of automated comfort and pristine hygiene.
Touch-Free Ecosystems
Modern washbasins feature touch-free automatic faucets and soap dispensers, making handwashing exceptionally safe and convenient.
Inclusive Excellence: The Healthcare Pavilion
The Osaka Healthcare Pavilion explores holistic wellness with stations dedicated to mind–body balance and personal health. As the official partner, TOTO designed fully accessible washrooms in direct consultation with 22 experts representing diverse physical needs. Their invaluable insights informed every architectural detail—from spatial layout to the precise height of the fittings—resulting in socially inclusive facilities where every single guest feels welcome, respected, and comfortable.

Elevating Landmark Architecture
In the EXPO Hall—a spectacular circular, gold‑roofed auditorium that hosts the Expo's major performances—TOTO’s state‑of‑the‑art WASHLETs perfectly complement Toyo Ito's modern interpretation of Osaka’s historic 1970 "Tower of the Sun".
Nearby, the Japan Pavilion incorporates traditional Japanese joinery and features an integrated biogas facility that transforms Expo waste into energy. Across these magnificent venues, TOTO consistently demonstrates how elegant design can seamlessly meld with deep sustainability and traditional hospitality (Omotenashi).
