The Philosophy of "Understated Presence"
TOTO is globally renowned for its highly innovative sanitary ceramics. Adhering to the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen (continuous improvement), they continually strive to enhance their products to meet the highest standards of hygiene and comfort.
Cutting-edge masterpieces, such as the luxurious WASHLET NEOREST WX and the soothing Flotation Tub, are displayed within a Japanese zen garden context. This approach highlights TOTO’s philosophy of “Understated Presence”—implementing user-friendly designs that support the body and soul, creating a profound sense of aesthetic harmony and lasting beauty.
TOTO’s exclusive products are presented in the context of Japanese zen gardens, sharing a high degree of aesthetic harmony.
Calming Zen Garden by Emi Morita
Japanese zen gardens are celebrated for their clarity and tranquillity. These meticulously designed spaces incorporate natural elements such as rocks, gravel, sand, and plants in harmonious, often symbolic arrangements to evoke a feeling of inner balance and peace.
“My mission is to help people understand the five senses of modern everyday life through the Japanese garden,”
— Emi Morita, Landscape Architect & Designer of the TOTO Zen Gardens.

CIPANGO: Ancient Crafts Meet Modern Design
CIPANGO is a social niche company that bridges the gap between modern architects, designers, and traditional Japanese artisans. They represent artisanal enterprises that brilliantly reinterpret ancient techniques for modern interior applications.
The Technology Meets Tradition exhibition demonstrates the versatility and transformative potential of these materials. The stunning collection on display at TOTO’s Clerkenwell showroom includes Harigane metal textiles, Youbi Hinoki furniture, Maruni wood carvings, and beautiful Tatinoya wood textiles.
