The TOTO WASHLET® RG Lite with Side Connections (TCF34120GGB) is an electric bidet toilet seat with adjustable front and rear warm-water washing, a heated seat, EWATER+ self-cleaning wand technology and an included wireless remote control. Designed for selected TOTO WC pans, it brings Japanese shower-toilet comfort to a compatible existing installation.
A gentle wash leaves you feeling fresh, while individual water, spray and seat settings make the experience your own. Its external side connections are particularly useful for retrofitting: water and power connect at the side of the seat, giving your installer an accessible route to the services without relying on connections concealed inside the ceramic.

EWATER+ hygiene, built around the cleansing wand
The part that delivers your wash deserves careful attention. TOTO combines a protected wand position with automatic cleaning and a dedicated maintenance mode.
Protected between uses
The cleansing wand retracts behind a protective flap above the ceramic bowl. It extends for washing and withdraws afterwards, keeping the nozzle discreetly housed when it is not needed.
EWATER+ after washing
TOTO generates EWATER+ by electrolysing tap water. After a cleansing function has been used, the RG Lite automatically cleans its wand with EWATER+. You can also trigger this cleaning cycle using the remote control.
Practical access for care
The wand-cleaning position lets you extend the wand for gentle manual cleaning. A removable spray nozzle and the built-in descaling programme make ongoing care easier to manage, especially in hard-water areas.
EWATER+ is used for wand cleaning; your personal wash uses the adjustable warm-water spray. The electrolysed water returns to ordinary water over time. Automatic wand cleaning supports regular maintenance and does not replace it.
Personal cleansing that adjusts to you
A shower toilet should feel comfortable from the first use. The RG Lite gives you clear, useful adjustments rather than asking everyone in the household to accept the same setting.
Three washes for different preferences
Choose rear cleansing, soft rear cleansing or front cleansing. The soft rear option provides a milder wash, while the front wash is positioned for front intimate cleansing. Start gently, then adjust until you find your preferred setting.
Oscillating and pulsating cleansing
Activate oscillation to move the wand backwards and forwards across a wider area. The pulsating, or massage, function alternates the water pressure between softer and stronger pulses. These are additional wash functions, separate from the three cleansing spray choices.
Warm water, heated as it flows
The continuous-flow heater warms incoming cold water during washing. Select one of three temperature levels within an approximate 35–40°C range, or turn water heating off. There is no need to run a hot-water pipe from your boiler to the toilet.
A heated seat with a gentler close
Choose from three seat-temperature levels, approximately 28–36°C, or switch seat heating off. The soft-closing seat and lid lower gently after use. It is an everyday comfort you will appreciate in a cool en-suite or during the British winter.

Fine-tune both the strength and the position of the spray from the remote. Five pressure levels and five wand positions help you direct the wash comfortably, without having to shift repeatedly on the seat. Adjustments can be made while cleansing.
Two memories and useful energy-saving options
Store two sets of wand position, water pressure and water temperature preferences. For seat heating, automatic energy-saving modes respond to periods of reduced use, while the timer mode lets you schedule a heating-off period. Settings can be tailored to your household routine.
Familiar settings, at the touch of a button
A simple wash routine
- Sit comfortably and choose your wash. Select rear, soft rear or front cleansing. The built-in seat switch detects when the seat is occupied.
- Make it your own. Adjust pressure and wand position, add oscillation or pulsation if preferred, or recall one of the two saved settings.
- Stop and gently pat dry. Press Stop when finished. The RG Lite has no warm-air dryer, so keep a little toilet paper or a suitable personal towel to hand.
The remote holder can be positioned within comfortable reach, giving the main controls a convenient home beside the WC.
Side connections or hidden connections?
Both approaches can produce a comfortable shower-toilet installation. The right choice depends on your existing pan, access to services and the finish you want to achieve.

UK installation: what to prepare before fitting
A successful retrofit starts with three checks: the correct ceramic, a suitable cold-water connection and a properly planned electrical supply.
1. Confirm the WC and connections
Check the exact pan code before ordering. Allow for the externally routed hose and cable, access to the water shut-off valve and the fittings needed for that pan. A wall-hung frame is only required if your WC arrangement calls for one.
2. Provide cold drinking water
The WASHLET requires a potable cold-water supply. TOTO specifies a minimum 1.0 bar dynamic pressure and maximum 10.0 bar static pressure. The incoming supply is heated internally, so no hot-water connection is required.
3. Plan the electrical supply
The UK model requires 220–240 V AC, 50 Hz and uses the terminal-block connection shown in the installation guide. Its power lead is approximately 1.2 m long. Have the connection location and protective measures planned for your bathroom by a qualified electrician.
Straightforward care, including in hard-water areas
Routine cleaning without harsh treatment
Use a soft damp cloth on the seat and housing, following TOTO’s care instructions. The wand can be extended in cleaning mode for gentle wiping. Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents and unsuitable cleaners, and keep the electrical connection dry.
A descaling programme you can manage
The built-in programme controls the descaling sequence after you add the recommended diluted agent. It is a user-initiated maintenance process, not a system that doses itself. Manual nozzle care and inlet-filter cleaning are also covered in the operating manual. Let water hardness and TOTO’s guidance determine the frequency.

Questions to ask before choosing your RG Lite

Is the TOTO RG Lite a complete toilet or a bidet seat?
The TCF34120GGB is an electric bidet seat with a lid, integrated washing system and remote control. It fits selected TOTO WC pans. The ceramic pan, cistern, frame and flush plate are separate items unless you choose a product expressly sold as a combination or complete set.
Can I fit it to my existing toilet?
Yes, if your toilet is a compatible TOTO model and suitable cold-water and electrical services can be provided. It is not a universal seat for every WC. Check the pan reference against the compatibility table, or send Tooaleta a photograph and the model details before ordering.
Will the water hose and power cable be visible?
Yes. This is the side-connection version, so the water and power connections are routed externally. That makes them accessible for a retrofit installation. If you want a concealed connection arrangement, choose the matching hidden-connection WASHLET, ceramic and fittings instead.
Does the RG Lite need a hot-water supply?
No. It connects to cold drinking water and heats the wash water internally using a continuous-flow heater. You can adjust the water temperature independently of the seat temperature, or switch water heating off.
Does continuous-flow heating mean an unlimited wash?
The heater warms water as it flows, so washing does not depend on the stored volume of a small preheated tank. However, a wash is still subject to the product’s operating controls: TOTO’s manual specifies an automatic stop after approximately five minutes of continuous cleansing. Press Stop whenever you have finished.
What are the three spray types?
They are rear cleansing, soft rear cleansing and front cleansing. Oscillation and pulsation are additional functions: oscillation moves the wand backwards and forwards, while pulsation varies the pressure. Both water pressure and wand position can be adjusted from the remote.
When does EWATER+ clean the wand?
The RG Lite automatically uses EWATER+ to clean its wand after a cleansing function has been used. The supplied remote also has a Wand CLEAN control for on-demand cleaning. EWATER+ is a wand-hygiene function; it does not remove the need for routine cleaning and descaling.
Does the RG Lite have a warm-air dryer or deodoriser?
No. The RG Lite provides warm-water washing, a heated seat and EWATER+ wand cleaning, but does not include a warm-air dryer or deodoriser. After washing, gently pat dry using a little toilet paper or a suitable personal towel. It also has no PREMIST bowl-misting function.
Does it open the lid or flush automatically?
No. The seat and lid are operated manually and close softly. The WASHLET does not add automatic flushing: use your WC’s existing flush control. This keeps seat selection separate from the specification of the pan and cistern.
What can the two user memories save?
Each preset stores wand position, water pressure and warm-water temperature. Recall the preferred preset, then select the wash you wish to use. Seat temperature remains a separate setting and is not one of the three values stored in these user presets.
Can it help reduce toilet-paper use?
Warm-water washing can reduce the amount of wiping you need. Because this model has no dryer, you will still need a way to pat dry. The amount of paper saved depends on your routine; no fixed saving is assumed.
Is it suitable for a hard-water area?
The RG Lite includes a descaling programme and a removable spray nozzle for maintenance. Follow TOTO’s instructions for the recommended agent, dilution and procedure, and adjust your maintenance routine to local water conditions. Do not substitute an unapproved cleaner or assume that an ordinary inlet filter removes dissolved limescale.
What happens if the electricity goes off?
The washing and heating functions need mains electricity and will not operate during a power cut. The WC’s separate flushing system is unaffected by the WASHLET itself; a conventional manual cistern can still be flushed, provided its water supply is available.
Could it make personal washing easier for someone with limited movement?
The adjustable spray and remotely operated wash may make some parts of personal hygiene easier by reducing the need for repeated wiping. Suitability depends on the individual: consider seat height, transfers, balance, reach to the remote and the ability to pat dry. If assistance is needed to use the controls or manage heat settings, plan for that support.
Can I install the UK model using an ordinary plug socket?
The TCF34120GGB installation guide shows a UK terminal-block connection. Have an electrician plan the supply and isolation for the exact product and bathroom layout. Do not assume that wiring instructions for the European TCF34120GEU plug version apply to this UK model.

My husband found this very easy to install. He was a little hesitant to use it at first, but soon got used to it and now really enjoys the heated seat and the extra cleanliness it provides.
I am very pleased with the comfort and hygiene, and the overall quality is better than I expected. We have had no issues with leaks. It also has a pre-rinse function, which helps to keep the toilet cleaner.
Since installing the TOTO Washlet, I only need to clean the toilet once a week, whereas before I was cleaning it twice a week. I am thoroughly spoilt now and hate having to use our other bathroom, as the seat feels absolutely freezing in winter!
