The TOTO WASHLET® RG (TCF34270GEU) is an electric bidet toilet seat with hidden connections, adjustable warm-water washing, a heated seat and EWATER+ automatic wand cleaning. It adds two useful functions over the RG Lite: PREMIST bowl misting and an automatic odour-absorbing filter system.
As you sit down, PREMIST lightly wets the ceramic bowl to help make it harder for dirt to adhere. The deodoriser draws air from the bowl through its filter during use, while the warm-water spray gives you precise control over your personal wash. After cleansing, EWATER+ automatically cleans the wand.
Paired with a compatible WASHLET-ready TOTO pan, the RG also keeps its water and electrical connections out of sight. It is a well-considered choice for a principal bathroom, family bathroom or en-suite where personal comfort, a fresher environment and a coordinated finish matter every day.

Three technologies, three distinct roles
PREMIST looks after the bowl surface, the deodoriser manages odours, and EWATER+ cleans the wand. Each addresses a different part of the experience.
As you sit: PREMIST
A fine mist of water is automatically sprayed into the ceramic bowl when you sit down. By moistening the surface before use, PREMIST helps make it harder for dirt to adhere and supports the bowl’s cleaning performance when flushed.
During use: odour absorption
The deodoriser automatically draws air from the toilet bowl through an odour-absorbing filter. With Auto Power Deodoriser enabled, it briefly increases extraction after you stand up, helping manage odours through the end of the routine.
After washing: EWATER+
Once a cleansing function has been used, the RG automatically cleans its wand with EWATER+, generated by electrolysing tap water. You can also activate the Wand CLEAN function from the remote whenever an additional wand-cleaning cycle is wanted.

Cleansing comfort, precisely to your preference
The RG gives different household members the freedom to choose a wash that feels right, with clear adjustments from the supplied remote.
Three cleansing sprays
Choose rear cleansing, soft rear cleansing or front cleansing. The soft rear option offers a milder posterior wash, while the front spray is positioned for front intimate cleansing. Start gently, then adjust the settings to your comfort.
Oscillating and pulsating functions
Activate oscillation to move the wand backwards and forwards across a wider area. Pulsation, also called the massage function, varies the pressure between softer and stronger pulses. These options work alongside the three main cleansing spray choices.
Warm water, heated as it flows
The continuous-flow heater warms incoming cold water during cleansing. Select one of three temperature levels within an approximate 35–40°C range, or switch water heating off. There is no separate hot-water connection to run from your boiler or cylinder.
A heated seat with a softer close
Choose one of three seat-temperature levels, approximately 28–36°C, or turn the heating off. The seat and lid lower gently with their soft-closing mechanism, adding a quiet finishing touch after use.
Five pressure levels and five wand positions
Adjust the strength and position of the spray while seated. Five water-pressure levels and five wand positions help you direct the wash comfortably, with the controls close to hand on the wireless remote.
Two memories for familiar wash settings
Store two sets of wand position, water pressure and warm-water temperature preferences. Recall the preset you want, then select your cleansing function. Seat temperature is adjusted separately and is not stored as part of those three wash settings.
An easy routine, with the controls beside you
From sitting down to feeling refreshed
- Sit comfortably. With the automatic settings enabled, PREMIST wets the bowl and the deodoriser starts.
- Choose and adjust your wash. Select rear, soft rear or front cleansing, then set the spray or recall a saved preference.
- Stop and pat dry. Press Stop when finished. Use a little toilet paper or a suitable personal towel; the RG does not have a warm-air dryer.
- Let the automatic functions finish. After washing, EWATER+ cleans the wand. Auto Power Deodoriser can continue briefly after you stand up.
The holder can be fitted within comfortable reach beside the WC. Temperature and energy-saving controls are on the rear of the remote.
Wand hygiene, bowl care and odour control explained
EWATER+ supports wand cleanliness
The cleansing wand retracts behind a protective flap above the ceramic bowl. After a wash, EWATER+ cleans the wand automatically; on-demand cleaning is also available from the remote. The electrolysed water returns to ordinary water over time.
EWATER+ is the wand-cleaning function. Your personal wash uses the adjustable warm-water spray. The separate wand-cleaning position allows access for gentle manual care.
PREMIST and the deodoriser have separate jobs
PREMIST moistens the bowl with water to help reduce dirt adhesion. The deodoriser filters air drawn from the bowl during use, with the Auto Power Deodoriser setting providing a brief boost afterwards.
These functions complement routine cleaning. The filter needs periodic care, and the ceramic should still be cleaned according to its own instructions.
Choose the correct hidden-connection combination
The RG uses the same listed ceramic and installation arrangements as the hidden-connection RG Lite. Choose the pan and connection parts together.
RG with the WASHLET-ready GP WC
- WASHLET: RG TCF34270GEU.
- Compatible ceramic: TOTO GP wall-hung, WASHLET-ready CW553EY.
- Water connection: SP10695UN hidden-connection set or SP515011B 3/8-inch mini ball valve, as appropriate to the prepared services.
- Flushing system: a suitable concealed frame, cistern and flush plate, selected separately.
Confirm the water-connection arrangement for the chosen frame. Do not assume that both listed water-connection accessories are always required.
RG with the matching RP WC and cistern
- WASHLET: RG TCF34270GEU.
- Compatible ceramic: TOTO RP close-coupled, WASHLET-ready CW561Y#XW.
- Matching ceramic cistern: RP SW561DY#W.
- WASHLET connection set: TCA567, specifically for RG / RG Lite hidden connections on the RP close-coupled WC.
The close-coupled arrangement uses the ceramic cistern above the pan. It does not require a wall-hung support frame; confirm any additional cistern fittings for the complete order.
A discreet finish starts with well-planned services
Agree the WASHLET, ceramic, flushing system and connection positions before first fix, boxing in or tiling.
1. Confirm the complete arrangement
Choose the GP wall-hung or RP close-coupled combination and identify the correct connection parts. Hidden water and electrical services pass through prepared openings in the matching ceramic, keeping the connections out of sight once fitted.
2. Prepare the cold-water supply
The RG uses potable cold water and heats it internally. TOTO specifies a minimum 1.0 bar dynamic pressure and maximum 10.0 bar static pressure. Position the connection and isolation arrangement according to the relevant planning and installation drawings.
3. Arrange the electrical connection
The operating manual specifies 220–240 V AC, 50 Hz. Follow TOTO’s hidden-connection connector arrangement. A qualified electrician should plan the supply, earthing, RCD protection and isolation for the exact product and bathroom layout.
4. Fit, check and allow access
Route the cable and hose without pinching or sharp bends, follow the correct fitting sequence and complete the manufacturer’s leak checks and trial operation. Plan access to isolation points and the service route for future maintenance.
Straightforward care for long-term comfort
A controlled descaling programme
The RG includes a built-in descaling programme. You start the process and add the recommended diluted agent; the programme controls the sequence. It does not automatically dose itself. Follow TOTO’s guidance and adjust the maintenance routine to local water conditions.
Regular deodoriser-filter care
The odour-absorbing system needs a clear airflow path. The operating manual includes approximately monthly filter maintenance. Follow the correct removal, cleaning and refitting instructions, and avoid using excessive force on the filter.
Access for wand and surface cleaning
A wand-cleaning position and removable spray nozzle support manual care. Use a soft damp cloth on the seat and housing, follow the inlet-filter instructions and avoid abrasive pads or unsuitable chemicals. Keep electrical connections dry.
Energy settings that suit your household
Auto Energy Saver and Auto Energy Saver+ adjust seat heating during periods of reduced use. Timer Energy Saver lets you schedule a heating-off period. Water and seat temperatures can also be adjusted individually or switched off.

What does the RG add over the RG Lite?
The RG adds PREMIST bowl misting and an automatic odour-absorbing filter system, including the Auto Power Deodoriser setting. Both models already include EWATER+ wand cleaning, adjustable warm-water washing, a heated seat, soft close, a remote and two wash-setting memories.
Is EWATER+ exclusive to the RG?
No. EWATER+ wand cleaning is included on both the RG and RG Lite. The reasons to choose the RG over the hidden-connection Lite are PREMIST and automatic odour absorption, rather than a different core washing system.
When does PREMIST operate?
With the function enabled, PREMIST sprays a fine water mist inside the ceramic bowl as you sit down. Moistening the bowl helps make it harder for dirt to adhere. It is separate from the personal washing spray and the EWATER+ wand-cleaning function.
Does PREMIST clean the toilet without regular bowl cleaning?
PREMIST helps prepare the bowl surface before use. It supports the toilet’s cleaning performance but does not replace flushing, regular ceramic cleaning or the WASHLET’s own maintenance. Follow the care instructions for both the seat and the chosen pan.
How does the deodoriser work?
It automatically draws air from the bowl through an odour-absorbing filter while you are seated. With Auto Power Deodoriser switched on, it increases extraction briefly after you stand up. The automatic settings can be changed as described in the operating manual, and the filter needs periodic cleaning.
Does the RG have a warm-air dryer or automatic lid?
No. It has a heated seat, warm-water washing, PREMIST, a deodoriser and EWATER+ wand cleaning, but no warm-air dryer or automatic opening. Open the seat and lid manually and pat dry after washing. The seat and lid close softly.
Does the RG flush automatically?
No. The RG seat does not add automatic flushing. Use the separate flush plate or cistern control for your chosen WC arrangement. Hidden connections describe how the water and electrical services are concealed, rather than an automatic flushing function.
Which ceramic pans are compatible?
TOTO lists the WASHLET-ready GP wall-hung CW553EY and RP close-coupled CW561Y#XW. The RP arrangement also uses cistern SW561DY#W and connection set TCA567. Send any different pan reference to Tooaleta for individual confirmation.
Is installation the same as the hidden-connection RG Lite?
Yes. The RG uses the same listed GP and RP hidden-connection arrangements as the RG Lite. The correct ceramic, service positions and connection parts are still essential. Replacing an existing seat should be assessed against the actual installation rather than assumed to be a direct swap.
Do I need a hot-water supply?
No. The RG connects to potable cold water and heats the cleansing water internally with a continuous-flow heater. Water and seat temperatures can be adjusted separately or switched off.
Does continuous-flow heating mean an unlimited wash?
Water is heated as it flows rather than being limited to a small stored volume of preheated water. Individual cycles still have operating limits: TOTO’s manual specifies an automatic stop after approximately five minutes of continuous cleansing. Press Stop whenever you have finished.
What can the two user memories save?
Each preset stores wand position, water pressure and warm-water temperature. Recall the desired preset, then select your wash. Seat temperature and the automatic hygiene settings are separate from those three stored wash preferences.
Is it suitable for a hard-water area?
The RG includes a descaling programme and a removable spray nozzle for maintenance. Use TOTO’s specified agent, dilution and procedure, and clean the water inlet filter as instructed. Maintenance frequency depends on local conditions; the deodoriser filter does not filter or soften the water supply.
What happens during a power cut?
Washing, heating, PREMIST, odour absorption and electronic wand cleaning need electricity and will be unavailable. The separate WC flushing system is unaffected by the WASHLET itself: a conventional manual cistern can still flush while its water supply is available.
Can warm-water washing make personal hygiene easier?
The remotely controlled spray may reduce repeated wiping and make some parts of washing easier. Suitability depends on the individual’s balance, transfers, reach, seat height and ability to pat dry. Position the remote and plan the complete installation around the intended user.

first smart toilet review by Claire, Bristol on 9/21/2026Bought this in Jan after using one in a hotel in Tokyo. Plumber took longer than he said coz the hidden connections need the proper kit, not just slapping it on a normal pan. The wash is actually decent, not a jet of freezing water like those cheap amazon ones. Dryer is slow so I still keep loo roll in there. reccomend if your doing the whole bathroom anyway, not if your just replacing a seat on an old close coupled loo.
